I went with 14 Dex instead of 14 Con so that by 15th level I will have 15 Dex without hurting my progression to 22 Str and 20 Cha. I'll also qualify to take Shield Proficiency Heavy, Shield Specialization, Armor Proficiency Scale, and Armor Specialization Scale boosting my AC +4, Ref +2, and Speed +1. However it hurts my Dragonborn powers such as Dragonbreath and the healing surge bonus.</p><p></p><p>Having a higher dex also allows me to take the Blade Opportunist - Heavy Blade Opportunist chain. Again, I'm one of only two melee fighters in my party because we have a Wizard, Archer Ranger, and Fey Pact Warlock outside of the Paladin. So I think I'll have chances to use opportunity attacks.</p><p></p><p>Or is it common to avoid over-focus on just your top two stats while leveling?</p></blockquote><p></p>
