Warmage Edge and Arcane Strike

If I had a warmage/swashbuckler with the Arcane Strike feat, could the Warmage Edge and Insightful Strike be simultaniously applied to a single blow with a melee finesse weapon and its Arcane Strike-enhanced magic component? The Insightful Strike would most definitely apply, adding my Int bonus to the damage. The Edge would be applied to the damage dealt by the addition of an expended spell to the strike, making it 1d4/spell lvl plus Int.

Does that sound about right?

I don't think so. I believe that Warmage Edge specifically applies to cast spells - not to spells sacrificed to power other class abilities.

What Patryn said. However, if you could channel a spell through your weapon (e.g. if you had levels in the Spellsword PrC, or you had the new metamagic feat in PHB II), I'd allow insightful strike to add to weapon damage and warmage edge to add to the spell damage.

It's not a very cohesive character idea, though. It has a neat idea for using mechanics to their fullest combat potential, but the roleplaying aspect seems forced: what the heck would compel a strictly-trained warmage, educated and conditioned to fight as a cog in a vast war machine, to take up a rapier and some pithy phrases and make a go of it on his own?

Unless I write some interesting plot piece involving turmoil at a warmage college, I'll just chock this idea up to excessive contrivance and move on
