This is an adventure for Cepheus Engine.
The Sonoran Interstellar Police (SIPOL) investigate many crimes across the Sonora sector. They are constantly at war with the major crime syndicates that have a stranglehold on commerce in the sector. Recently SIPOL operatives have noticed a great deal of activity and star ship traffic along the borders of the sector and unexplored space. In particular they have seen a great up tick in traffic at a system called Bernersdine. This system is just across the border in unexplored space. Traffic of this kind often means criminal activity. As SIPOL has no jurisdiction across the border they have requested that the team of travelers visit this system and see exactly what is going on there.
Traffic to this system stopped, rather abruptly, this last week. SIPOL operatives have indicated that many of the vessels seen traveling to Bernersdine were known smugglers who often work with the Santori crime family. The Santoris are known for their involvement in the narcotics trade as well as their endless wars against the Yamaguchi Cartel.
Army Colonel Oliver Li is a young officer with the Sonoran Interstellar Police. He is offering CR 350,000 for the travelers to visit this system and find out exactly what the Santori family is up to in this system. And to put a stop to it if it is, indeed, criminal activity.
