Watchmen preview impresses

Based on the photo stills I've seen and other articles on the movie they are staying very close to the graphic novel. I am very much looking forward to this one.

I'm cautiously optimistic about this. The look and feel is excellent and I've liked what I've seen in various interviews and such. Then again, I hope it's nothing like 300 in style (I sort of liked 300, but the Watchman is something completely different).

There have been reports that a few fight scenes (the opening one, and the prison one) use a mix of slow-motion and rapid-editing, like some parts of 300.

Has anyone else read the reactions to the test screenings? If these reports are to be believed:

The ending is changed, there is no alien squid.

Spoiler tagged invso-text above, because I don't know how to use the fancy box code. :)
