Campy and poorly-conceived, two things Watchmen isn't supposed to be.

Campy because the costumes for the heroes look pure Adam West. It's a rotten little throwback.

Ill-conceived because n Watchmen, masked vigilantes weren't a rampant epidemic everyone needed to keep an eye out for. They were a handful of guys.

The creators have been playing too much Fallout, methinks.

I was amused.

I especially liked the way it mentioned the HUAC... seeing as the number of actual Communists in Hollywood roughly equaled the actual number of masked vigilantes in the Watchman universe...

Hmm... I wonder if you have read the series recently? The entire premise of this short is lifted straight from the graphic novel, even including the very specific style of the costumes from that time period. Heck, those costumes are *identical* to those in the Watchmen series.

I mean, if you do not like it, fair enough-- but implying that this somehow diverges from the source material is just wrong.

My thoughts exactly. It seemed pretty close to the source material to me.

Maybe I'm reading into it a bit but Before the Keene Act, the heroes were on a high. It was after the Keene Act that heroes either had to work for the government (often morally questionable ways) , quit the gig (which most did) or become true vigilantes.

Without being able to see the preview, it sounds reasonable true and accurate to the spirit of the material it is based on.
