Waterdeep - I've got it

And it feels awfully thin. Looking through it, I'm wishing I still had my 2nd edition boxed set. And there's TONS of references to other books, which is cool if you have them, but not so cool if you don't.

I saw it was going to be pretty thin.... 160 pages I think. Despite that, how does it look for the content that is there? Does it look pretty good?

There is no poster map. There are multiple full page maps, one for the city, and one for each ward.
There are a few pages wasted on NPC stats. Only a few new prestige classes, spells, feats, etc. (thank god).
There is a lot of info in here, but still, compared to past books, lots of stuff is being left out. You WILL need the Forgotten Realms handbook, because all the NPC's in there are not described in Waterdeep (it tells you to refer to that book whenever people like Craulnober are mentioned).

I should say the book is pretty good. It should have been another 40 to 60 pages longer. I actually think Sharn is a better city book than Waterdeep.

Well regarding the map QUALITY, I mean is very good cartography or not?

Also any maps of Blackstaff Tower? *Forgets if any were done in 2nd edition...*

For some reason, Sharn fascinates me more than Waterdeep ever did. (I haven't seen the new Waterdeep book yet, though...)

The best three city books I have ever seen are Streets of Silver, Freeport, and Marnienburg (WH)

I was looking forwards to this. Sounds like another disappointing WOTC product.
