Message: <blockquote data-quote="Mistwell" data-source="post: 158383" data-attributes="member: 2525">Well, we did improve a lot this year as well.  Remember, when Alvin Gentry got there, we had 15 wins.  The next year it was 30.  This year, depending on tonights game, looks to be 40 wins.  Next year will probably be 45, which is the playoffs.  That's a very good rate of progress, for the youngest team in the league.Personally, I think it was the injuries that prevented 45 wins this year.  Losing Lamar Odom was bad.  However, losing Corey Maggette was even worse, since he was the bench player for Odom.  You've got to have at least one of your two good forwards available if you are going to win the close games.I think we will see almost the same team next year.  I'm afraid we are going to lose Jeff McInnis, leaving us with no good point guard.  I like Keyon Dooling, but he is too inexperienced to be our starting point.  I like Earl Boykins too, but he is more of a specialist than a starting player as well.  Unless we can trade for an experienced point (and I can see trading Eric Piatkowski for one, and swapping Quentin Richardson into his place as the starter), we are probably looking at Keyon starting though, and that will be tough.  We are going to lose a few close games for the first half of the season if we start Keyon at point.I'm happy to hear there is another Clippers fan on this board!</blockquote>
