We've been looking at venues over the last couple of weeks, and have narrowed it down to two:

We've arranged the finance for the wedding (we have to put a deposit down on one of the two within the next couple of weeks). Sharon keeps looking at dresses and shoes and making strange squeaky noises, and buying pointless wedding magazines like "Bride". I'm responsible for the invitations, which I'm going to make geeky and custom painted - Claudio Pozas has kindly agreed to paint me something!
We have two dates in mind. We're going to do it on a Friday, instead of the traditional Sauturday. Highcliffe Castle has pencilled us in for Friday 13th August and Rhinefield House on Friday 20th August (both pending deposit - they'll hold the dates for a couple of weeks). Part of me kinda likes the idea of getting married on Friday 13th!
Anyway. So that's our news. We've kept it quiet for a couple of weeks, but I think it's about time to tell everyone (we told our families two weeks ago).
There was no proposal or ring, unfortunately - I'd have liked to do it the old-fashioned way, but we had along talk and both agreed that this was what we wanted, and mutually decided to marry next year.
