Weapon damage dice on pregen characters / weapon chart wrong?

The fighter, Moradin cleric and rogue have weapons that deal a die higher damage than the equipment charts.

Did I miss something that grants the combat characters a die bump, or are the pregens or charts from differing playtest incarnations?

The increased damage might not be an error, since it is looking like monster HP scales very fast .

The damage dice are from a previous incarnation of the playtest rules. They just did not get modified to the current rules state is all.

Also the playtest characters gain average hd each level instead of roll and take thi or constitution modifier...

the also refer to theme as background in two cases. So there are errors.

But: all in all thos sheets look great.

Is this confirmed to be true?

I almost wonder if there is some sort of racial ability at play: halflings get to increase the damage die of slings and daggers, dwarves get the same for axes and hammers?

I've been thinking about that too. I mean, the rogue got to boost his damage dice with a few weapons in 4E, no reason something similar couldn't be happening.

I was in the F&F playtest and the damage dice on the character sheet where it differs from the chart in the new playtest packet are the old playtest values.

Now if there are things in play from character creation that we dont have access to that increased the die then we will have to wait to find out.

I just took it as that they did not modify the damage die when they updated these pregens for release after a change in the rule set.

Someone in another thread mentioned it might be a benefit for proficiency. Instead of getting an attack bonus, you get a die bump.

Or....perhaps they wanted to playtest different damages.
