The chewing of it has no actual effect but, once per round while it is being chewed, a character may attempt, as an attack action, to spit the juices in the eyes of a nearby opponent. This is counted as a ranged touch attack, though it does not provoke an attack of opportunity and it's range is limited to 5'. Unless the character has Exotic Weapon Proficiency (Beechnut), this attack is at a -10 non-proficiency penalty. The EWP (Beechnut) feat will lower this penalty to a -5.  If the attack is succesful, the target must make a Fortitude save (DC equal to the original attack result) or be blinded for 1d4+1 rounds.</blockquote>
