IIRC, they were in the Mournlands and they had nightmares about these children. When they woke up after a bit they noticed that their shadows were now those of the children they'd dreamed about and they were doing childrenish things independent of what the characters were doing. He had a more detailed write up of exactly what he did in a thread similar to this about freaking out your players or something to that effect. Might prove to be a useful thread to track down.
