Welcome to the world of Baeg Tobar!
The world of Baeg Tobar is brought to life by a dedicated and diverse community of artists and writers. By embracing mythological concepts, natural science, and a level of technology fast approaching that of the American Industrial Revolution and then blending those ingredients with traditional elements of magic and heroism, this community has created a setting and lifestyle both familiar and fantastic. It’s a world of conflict, where the rapidly expanding influence of science and technology, the established social and political mores of religion, and the unpredictable influence of magic constantly collide in epic battles ranging from brutal to intricate subterfuge. Everyone has a system of beliefs, and every system of beliefs has staked a claim on the planet.
We invite you to come and explore Baeg Tobar!
We currently have six lavishly illustrated novels that will begin updating on a monthly basis in September. We will also be launching the first of several webcomics in September that will update weekly.
All of the content on Baeg Tobar is free and we invite you to log into our forums and let us know exactly what you think of both the stories and the artwork. And anything else you want to tell us!

A Bit of Rock
Written by Robert Beers
Illustrated by Colin Throm and Tom Scholes
In one of the seedier taverns on the southern Bailee Steps coast a Lij befriends a Marii musician and frees a Rilk who has been captured by pirates, his Rilkin slain. Due to the Lij’s fighting skills, and the debt the Marii and the Rilk feel they owe him, the trio is drawn into a plot to steal a blood red jewel from one of the Ainghid Fas. The jewel is reputed to be able to remove the Ainghid Fas curse. The only problem is that the owner lives in the City of Deos, has his own army, and is a vampire.
Final Voyage of the Black Yonnix
Written by Scott Colby
Illustrated by Tim Hibbetts and Tom Scholes
Orphaned by the ruthless tax collectors serving the local lord, Young Kensey Vardallian uses his family's involvement in a legend of unspeakable treasure to persuade Captain Lagash and the crew of the Black Yonnix to take revenge upon the greedy men responsible for his grandfather's death. Following the deed, Lagash insists that Kensey fulfill his promise of incalculable riches, though the youngster has no idea how to decode the journal of cryptic poetry that hides the only clues to the treasure's location. So he fakes it and guides the Black Yonnix to the other side of the continent.
Into the Reak
Written by Kristin Keck
Illustrated by Joe Slucher and Jeremy Mohler
This is a story of love and redemption. Murder and justice. Magic and mystery.
When a forbidden liaison produces two children never meant to be, it sets a series of ripples into motion that will only be felt many, many years later.
These series of events will bring a drunken man out of a legend, a thief running from his past, the mysterious elementalist of the People, and a young girl uncertain of her heritage, to face life at both its grandest and darkest.
As the ripples widen, we find that the musicians of the land are, one-by-one, being murdered mysteriously. No one knows how or why or what this may entail.
Little does the world know just how deeply this plot may go.
Tales of the Bard
Written by Emma Melville
Illustrated by Bob Cram and Garry Henderson
In a world where cataclysmis events can sometimes happen, a band of friends discover that escaping the everyday and finding themselves is not as simple as it seems. Nikos, Gwyn and Akalhi each have reasons for travelling into the depths of the unknown and avoiding hard decisions but sometimes what you are running from has ways of catching up with you.
Travelling the unknown paths of the Shoro, the companions find that grief and love are not so easy to leave behind and decisions of heritage and faith have to be made sooner than they think.
The Tales of the Bard is a story of discovery - both of new lands and races and of what lies within the heart and soul - set against the magnificent scenery of Baeg Tobar's innermost continent to the accompaniment of a bard's songs.
The Brayburn Jar
Written by Joseph Wise
Illustrated by Cliff Kurowski, Jeff Cram, and Ramiro Diaz Legaspe
A Taint has been spreading in the south mountains of Thila. The citadel of Elianimos, once site of a great battle, has for many years been unapproachable, and haunted. But the land around it is quickly being consumed with the same affliction. Few dare set eyes upon this place, and the only thing that can be done to stop this, has been deemed impossible. Until now.
As the Pilean Empire expands, a new colonial relationship has been established with the northern island of Layleal. The natives of Layleal tell stories of their strange home, and in these tales something familiar is heard. There is an old connection between Layleal, and the tragedies of Elianimos, and the location of the Brayburn Jar has finally been uncovered. Only with this can Elianimos be calmed again.
But in righting a very old wrong, a terrifying dilemma will be unraveled, and a difficult choice will have to be made.
The Unmade Man
Written by Daniel Gooden
Cover Illustrated by Jeffrey Koch
The story begins with the recovery of the child and the escape from the valley. With the escape, the dead man’s magic destroys any trace of where the boy was kept. The main storyline will deal with the group’s delivering of the boy to Bramble in the Shoro Valley. This will be difficult as they don’t know anything about the boy or who Bramble is. Their contract does not outline more than the retrieval. Finally tracking down Bramble will take some time due to his nature, the nature of Shoro Valley and any other difficulties that can be thrown into the plot.
The immediate next move is discovering more about the boy and developing back story between the group. All this falls inside the backdrop of returning to Nefazo and confronting Belok, the contractor of this mission. Belok is a bit of a crook and a swindler, and there is more to the contract than he let on.
