Attack!, Round 1-2 "DAMN!" yells Frank as the barbed net engulfs him. His first instinct is to try and pull the net off of himself. Frank struggles to get out of the net but he yells in pain as the hooks catch in his flesh. "Somebody help me!!" he yells at the others. [sblock=Frank]Frank takes two points of damage from the hooks tearing his flesh.[/sblock] April watches helplessly as Frank is caught up in the net. Still cluching the others hands trying to form a human chain she calls out. "What are we gona do? Somebody do something..." Her sight is then drawn to the ship and it's strange crew. "Oh God! I hope that isn't some kind of fishing net... We gotta get outa here!!!" April's face twists in panic and fear. One by one, the men break the human chain, starting with Bryan. Hari, Dustin, and Isaac follow after only a moment's hesitation. Their steps are long and sure as they race toward the net. At the same time, the ship surges forward. The ripples of transformed sand wash ahead of the ship. On deck, the men can see "bugs" manning the trailing rope attached to the net that has ensnared Frank. More "bugs" swarm about the bow. Loud clicks and hisses can be heard above the strange sibilant rolling of the sand. All four men reach the net. Frank feels their fingers grab the strands and suddenly he is lifted into the air. He is surprisingly light, even considering the four men involved in task. Bryan is the first to feel the sand go soft around his feet. He sinks to his ankles, then his knees. Hari and the others feel the change next. The ship is nearly upon them. They all sink up to their waists. The sand scratches and flows and splashes like liquid. There is no way they'll make it back to the rocks without having to swim. Back on the rocks, April sees that the "bugs" have dropped several lines from the port aft. More of the alien sailors scuttle through the rigging. Slowly but surely, the sails lose some of their billow. The "bugs" have dropped anchor and are striking the sails! A sudden jerk on the trailing line attached to Frank's net pulls against the men's grips. They slide a little deeper into the sand, but then regain several feet. Dustin sees one of the "bugs" on the line hit the rail as it and its comrades are yanked forward. The hooks scrape along Frank's skin and cut into the men's hands. Frank's rescue has turned into a desperate tug-of-war. [i]OOC - Initiative: "Bugs" (19), Frank (17), Bryan (14), April (10), Hari (9), Dustin (8), Isaac (6), the ship (1).
