Attack!, Round 2-3 OOC: I overestimated my recuperative powers! Within the net, Frank works a knife out of his pocket, opens the blade -- almost dropping the knife! -- and then starts to saw on the net's strands. The fibers are tough, and working around the hooks while being jostled about isn't easy, but Frank manages to cut through a few strands, enough to get his arm out of the net. Meanwhile Bryan and Isaac hold tight to the net, now having to kick their feet in order to tread, of all impossible things, sand. There is more bouyancy to the "liquid" sand than water, but not quite enough to keep anyone afloat in the tossing waves without some effort. From back near the cave entrance April yells about anchors. Hari and Dustin abandon the net, swimming a few strokes to grab the trailing tow rope. With a couple of hard yanks, they are pleased to see their efforts rewarded. One of the "bugs" cries out -- a horrible, shrill buzzing sound -- and tumbles overboard into the surf. The ship passes by, gradually slowing. Suddenly the tow rope goes tight as the ship's movement picks up the slack. All five men are dragged along, first sinking a bit and then bouncing to the surface. The net comes perilously close to the side of the ship, but Bryan and Isaac kick out with their feet, pushing themselves and Frank away from the hull. The men can hear the alien sounds of the "bugs" shouting. Looking up, they see six of the creatures lean over the port rail, aiming what appear to be shoulder-mounted spear guns. The tips of the projectiles protruding from the weapons crackle like the electrical arc of a hand taser. April, from her higher vantage point, sees a large rowboat being swung out on a boom. Several more "bugs" scurry about, getting ready to lower the craft while other of their kind, all bearing weapons that look sort of like tridents, leap into the boat. OOC - Initiative: "Bugs" (19), Frank (17), Bryan (14), April (10), Hari (9), Dustin (8), Isaac (6), the ship (1). Ya'll can roll your own dice for actions if you want. The "bugs" have taken all of their actions for the new round.
