Attack!, Round 3-4 The pocket knife slices through a few other strands. Bryan tears at the net with his bear hands, ignoring the barbs that cut into his hands as he bobs and slips and pulls. For a moment, it seems as if the cut strands are just making the tangle even worse, but then Frank spills from the net and disappears beneath the sand only to break the surface an instant later, coughing dirt and covered with grit! When the bugmen pull out the spears April moves a little deeper into the rocks and takes cover. She calls out loudly and points in the direction of the row boat. "Hey! They're lowering a smaller boat!" Hari frantically considers what to do, looking up at the ship and then toward the rocks. The swim to them isn't too far, and he's sure they can beat the launch there. Holding tight to the tow rope, Hari yells, "We got to get out've here now!" At April's warning, Dustin glances back in her direction. "Have a look for rocks, sticks, anything we can fend them off with if we can get Frank free!" Looking around her, April doesn't much in the stick department, but there are several fist-sized rocks available. A solid blow with one swung like a mallet could surely crack bone. Isaac pushes away the net, not wanting to get tangled. Frank is free, but the worst is surely yet to come. The ship has nearly come to a full stop. Its sails are down, and its anchor chain is taut. The six of the creatures leaning over the port rail, aiming what appear to be shoulder-mounted spear guns, the tips of the projectiles protruding from these weapons crackling like the electrical arc of a hand taser, open fire. There is a dull whoomp! as the "bugs" fire down at the men in the "water." Spears hiss past Hari, Dustin, and Isaac, vanishing beneath the surface of the sand. Frank and Bryan, however, are struck; Frank in the shoulder, Bryan across the top of the head! [sblock=Frank&Bryan]From the "taser" spear, Frank takes 4 points of piercing damage and 3 points of electrical damage. Bryan takes 1 point of damage from the net's barbs, and 3 points of damage of piercing damage and 3 points of electrical damage from the spear.[/sblock] Toward the aft, the launch has been swung out into position. Six more "bugs" are in it while others lower it. It's only a matter of second before the launch will be ready to be rowed by its alien crew. OOC - Initiative: "Bugs" (19), Frank (17), Bryan (14), April (10), Hari (9), Dustin (8), Isaac (6), the ship (1). Ya'll can roll your own dice for actions if you want. The "bugs" have taken all of their actions for the new round.
