A while ago, I had posted a thread on the General RPG forum asking for help in handling an issue I had with a player who wanted a weretiger. I had misread the DMG and thought that a weretiger was ECL +1 and I agreed to let her have the character. Then, after checking the MM, I realized that a weretiger would be at least ECL +6, and thus way too powerful for my campaign. This is the compromise that we came up with.
I give you... the ECL +1 Weretiger:
Character will start off as an ECL +1 human/weretiger with ONLY the following attributes:
* +4 on listen, spot and search, and +2 FORT
* Uncontrolled Alternate Form only on full moon
* WILL save DC 20 to control actions in animal/hybrid form
The following benefits of a weretiger can be taken as feats during regular class level advancement:
* Controlled Alternate Form
* Rake
* Improved Grab (pre-req Rake)
* Pounce (pre-req Improved Grab)
The following metabolic changes will occur at the indicated level:
* At level 2 she'll gain Tiger Empathy
* At level 5 she'll gain Curse of Lycanthropy
* At level 10 she'll gain Scent
* At level 13 she'll gain Damage Reduction 15/silver
(Meaning combined class-levels, ECL non-inclusive)
