I find it interesting how many people have said "if he follows a personal code, he's Lawful." I'm playing a character probably best described as Evil at the moment, and she's very chaotic. She has a passionately followed code, based around freedom for all. She hates authority, and will mistrust leaders on principle. Very chaotic. However, having read the posts here, I feel compelled to hijack the thread. My character has been defined by my GM as Evil. That said, I question... She is a murderer, a thief, and a terrorist. She's also a devoted mother, a loving wife, and believes in liberty and equality for all. How can those work together? I'll explain. The gameworld is at war. My character is a terrorist working against a conquering dictator. She started out Chaotic Neautral, but the horrors of war have dragged her down. She slits the throats of unconscious foes, instead of taking prisoners. She finds excuses for herself to take the safest route through interaction with foes- dead men don't fight back, dead men don't report back. She is a ruthless killer when on the battlefield, but she feels terrible about what she's done after the fact... Most of the time. When her family is threatened, she enjoys killing the threats- punnishing those who'd do her loves harm. She's scared herself before with her bloodlust in these instances, and takes pains to avoid them at all costs. To top that off, she's dedicated herself to the destruction of fiends and those humans who could be mistaken for them. She finds humans capable of atrocities- destruction of sould, murder of children- to be worthy of the hell they've earned, and desires to send them to judgement. I think she's evil, but close to neutral. Outside of a war, she wouldn't have any need to be evil, but at the moment, she's going to hell. What do you think? By the way.. My vote for the thread's character is Neutral Evil, given the information we have. - Kemrain the Evil.
