What are the bonuses for being small?

Skill Checks: +4 to hide is the only official one I know of. I make extensive use of a feat of my own 'Lithe' that allows the creature to add its AC bonus from size to a variety of skills: climb, balance, escape artist, jump, and tumble. Even if you don't do something like that, jump and climb as written are semi-broken because they depend upon strength NOT strength to weight ratio (as they should). This means that for instance, a fly, which ought to climb easily doesn't, because it's climb bonus is based on its strength (which is negligible). Balance is an interesting case, because the smaller you are the wider any given thing you are supposed to be balancing on becomes. Balancing on a 4" wide beam is no problem for a 1" wide mouse. So, you have to make some modifications to the DC when you talk about balancing on something X wide when the size of creature is quite different than human.

It seems like the default is to handle this yourself by giving appropriate racial bonuses, but in many cases it is really related to size.
