what are the odds?

what is the likelyhood that one amongst us will place well in the wotc thingy(notice i didn't label it anything controversial )?

anyone wanna be brave and hazard a guess as to who amongst us might make the final 10? the final 3?

and what a group ego-blow if none of the 10 are drawn from our little family...

i wish you all good luck, and a week prior to the choices i wanna be the first to say "quit whining, you weren't chosen, it is over"

one divided by the number of entries- if this contest was blindly judged and all the names placed into a hat and the judge drew out 10, then from there, three.

But this is not right- so there is no probabilities- there is just a matter of taste- and the mood of the judges, the temperature, the time of day, and the judges' significant other all play a role in biasing the contest...

but it all comes down to taste, and personal factors that cannot be statted with probablilities... just cross your fingers and pray.

Aye... good luck to all the entrants, didn't get anything submitted myself. It would be great to see someone from the boards get it. I think the chances are actually pretty good... I'd take a risk and say that there's probably an 80% chance someone from the boards will make final 3. That's just a total guess though.

I suspect that 7 of the 10 will be ENWorld'ers, and 1 of the 3.

If you mean all of the various d20 boards when you say "the boards", then that number increases, in my opinion, to 8 of 10 and 2 of 3.

I've seen it repeated at least half a dozen times that the winner list will not be posted by WotC.
