I agree with everything you said - especially the last part, although I have moved supplements down a notch on my priority list as I've decided that lately I enjoy a new game or setting more than a supplement for one that I already have. The main product that I'm waiting for is d20 Modern. I'll most likely also buy BoVD, Tome of Horrors and Gentleman's Agreement when they come out and Shadowforce Archer sometime before the end of the year. I generally drop about $100 on games per month, so that leaves me with a couple some flexibilty for whatever strike my fancy at the moment. Things that I've been meaning to pick up for a while include: Feng Shui, it's GM's screen, and the supplement (can't remember the name) that's a compilation of scenarios, so that I always have something fun to run as a one-shot. Rokugan, Creatures of Rokugan and some of the supplements if I like the setting book enough. any Spycraft/Shadowfore Archer supplements Call of Cthulhu d20 more Star Wars supplements, especially if it starts to look like I might be a game going on the side of my regular D&D campaign. more Forgotten Realms supplements. I don't think that I'm likely to ever run a FR campaign again but what I've seen of the 3e product line is good enough that I'd like to check the rest out. Dragon and Dungeon/Polyhedron of course, since I have subscriptions. Lately Poly is my favorite of these. Possibly more adventure modules, depending on which way my campaign turns and whether or not any of them look like they'd fit well and be entertaining enough. Oh yeah, and I'm never been much of a supers fan but lately I'm starting to think about maybe getting Mutants & Masterminds when it comes out for two reasons: 1) Green Ronin just earned my respect big time with Book of the Righteous 2) I'm kind of glad that they decided to go the OGL route rather than full d20. I feel like a game that's good enough to stand on its own is hurt a bit by having to refer to the PHB for character generation/advancement rules. Particularly, I felt that Spycraft deserved better.
