More old cop shows... Watched the first two episodes of the "Murdoch Mysteries" (from 2008-present, set in 1890s-early 1900s Canada). WIth things like Tesla in it, I really wanted to like it, but the acting and scripts just didn't do it for me. I might jump in later and see if that changes since it was popular enough to make it to its 19th season now. Watched all of the Inspector George Gently series (from 2007-2017, set in 1960s England). Martin Shaw's Gently is now my choice for DCI* (replacing Tom Barnaby at the head of my list). It gets a bit heavy handed about the topic in some episodes (kind of a greatest hits of the standard things covered by shows targeting that era), but if you don't binge it too quickly it's fine. Gently's personality type is paladin and I might be a sucker for that (radio's Marshall Dillon is my favorite western character). His sidekick Bacchus is ok - maybe a bit too much like some real people, and their later junior officer worked out fine. * Sharon Small's DS Havers is my choice for Sergeant.
