One is a paragon-level 4E game currently playing through Against the Giants. I consider this game winding down since the PCs are 13th level and we discussed skipping the epic tier back when we started it. We have played several 4E Level 1 to Level 30 games already. The players include 3 brand new to 4E ones, 3 veteran 4E players, and one somewhat familiar with 3E/4E player. Originally I considered doing a nostalgic first edition or second edition game (or even Castles & Crusades) but some of the players were very hesitant to return to the old school system of declared actions. It was just easier to continue with 4E so we went that route.I have enough 4E materials to play it forever if I wanted to. I do intend on trying out 5E at-least in the convention setting once it becomes available and if a desirable system of tournament play becomes available. For that matter, personally, I wouldn't be opposed to playing 3rd edition or any D&D edition as long as it was a fun group. So for me: 5E doesn't mean an end to 4E just like 4E didn't mean an end to 3E. Our group switched to fourth edition after the Player's Handbook II was in stores largely cause we were bored with 3E power-gaming (mostly from third party add-ons and splat books) and ready for some change. Third edition was great and we had a lot of fun just like we did with fourth edition. So uncertain future with my group.</blockquote>
