Man, I'm such a setting-whore. I'd pay money for 4E versions of Planescape, Dark Sun, Ravenloft, the FR and Eberron, in that order of preference. Indeed, I will probably pick up the FR in a month or so when it comes out. I might end up throwing them across the room in a fit of nerd-rage, but I'd really like to see what they do with them. I think the current crop of designers are fairly smart and likely to sensibly reboot PS, DS and RL rather than trying for 4E on them whilst retaining their full history. Book throwing (and non-buying if I learnt of it beforehand) would ensue with the follow settings under the following conditions: Planescape - If there are no Factions in Sigil. I don't mind if they mess with the Factions a bit, but they're what Sigil is, to me. Planescape - If the artwork is totally lame. DiTerlizzi did an incredibly job, and the other PS artists were often strong too, so they need someone who has a similarly otherworldly vibe, not someone like WAR or William O'Connor (no insult to either of them). Dark Sun - If Psionics are not a core part of the setting it can gtfo. Wild talents can go, but Psions and Psychic Warriors and so on should be common and significant. Dark Sun - If Defiling isn't still in. Dark Sun - If more than 20% of the Sorcerer-Kings are dead. Ravenloft - If I'm not REALLY SCARED by the whole deal, particularly the domain lords, and it'd better not be just by them being high level.
