Options... All of these are really cool ideas...so let's see what we can come up with together. Okay, let's say your a monk and you lived in a monastery that followed Heironeous, God of Valor. So, by believing in his teachings, to provide some flavor and diversity amongst the monks, this monk is allowed to pick one domain from his list as a class ability. Heironeous has Good, Law and War as domains. The idea for this is to provide a option for a more spiritual monk that is more into his religious aspect that possibly non-religious monks. So, let's pick War. This monk now has a MWP in the weapon of choice by the deity. In this case, the longsword. If we want to go further into this, we could also say that at the same progression as a cleric would for domain spells, the monk could get the Domain 'spells' as class abilities instead of the usualy monk class ability at that particular level. Or, instead of spell abilities, we come up with other Monk abilities that are suitable within the Domains, or come up with a list of feats that would be in the domains as martial maneuvers most likely supported by someone from that domain, if that makes sense? Then there is the option for the Bab alternative Comrade Raoul provides, which I am in total agreement with. I will use that for my games regardless of whether or not any other options are included, and it makes sense. Plus, we could say that within each Lawful god is an order and come up with the appropriate classes available for multiclassing without penalty to fit the order, and within each specific order have a special unique level progression abilities instead of just a generic monk. This could be seperate from using domains are used in conjunction with domains.
