here's an option... Monks of the Sun Soul Order Monks of this order are trained in monasteries that worship, or have alliegances to, the Deities of Faerun: Lathander, some Selune, and others Sune. This is a widespread but somewhat disorganized group, and because it is so varied sometimes different sects of this disagree on some aspects. It is an old order, and most of its monasteries are hidden away from public knowledge or found in far flung wilderness areas. Because of the diversity within the order, a monk of the Sun Soul Order is allowed to multi-class freely with one other class of their choice. The only requirement is that the first level of the character is his or her monk level. This class that the monk can pick can be picked at anytime, but once picked then it can't be changed. A monk of the Sun Soul is allowed to pick one Domain from the list of Domains of the deity they worship, if they so choose. In the Sun Soul Order, a monk who has been blessed with the gift of the Domain is considered a special member of the order, and all members of the order blessed in such a way has a special tattoo on his or her body of the God's holy symbol that shows itself on the night of the member's blessing into the Order. The monks don't have to preach their God's will, but have to live according to the dogma of the God or find their blessings taken away. It's considered a personal motto of the monk to live according to the God that has blessed him or her. The Deities and their Domains Lathander: Good, Nobility, Protection, Renewal, Strength, Sun Selune: Chaos, Good, Moon, Protection, Travel (picking the Chaos domain does not constitute the monk becoming chaotic in alignment) Sune: Chaos, Charm, Good, Protection The monk gets the Domain ability as a class ability and each of the spells within that domain also become monk class abilities that can be used once per day. In order to use these abilities, the monk must meditate and focus for one full round, so it counts as a full round action, and is subject to attacks of opportunities. As part of the meditation the monk must make a Will roll at DC 15 to see if he/she can channel the divine blessing and use the ability. If this Will is failed, then the monk doesn't lose the opportunity to use it in the day and can try again. The monk gets the spell abilities at the same rate as Clerics gain new spell level access. So, the monk gets the level 1 spell at level 1. Gets the level 2 spell at level 3, and so on... NOTE: This is a option available for those monks who are devoted to a specific deity within a specific Order. For those monks who are not devoted to a specific deity, then there will be a option posted later that will provide more martial aspects available for a more standard martial artist type of monk. I just typed this up, haven't playtested it yet but I have discussed it with a bunch of my friends and we think that it will provide enough of a different for each monk to be unique and different.
