What comes after Greater XX?

According to TWF, the longest feat chain of this type I'm aware of, the progression is Normal, Improved, Greater, Perfect. I seem to recall Superior occasionally showing up between Greater and Perfect, though I'm not sure where.

Something like this:

Thing
Improved Thing
Greater Thing
Superior Thing
Perfect Thing

QFT

This one is the most accurate as used in the game (v.3.5, that is). You could make up your own, of course, but these are the name conventions actually used in published products.

Unsurpassed.

Special: This feat can only be taken once. Ever.

This is actually an excellent idea. Have a rule where only one character (or maybe 1 PC or 1 NPC) per campaign may have the feat at any given time.

I've actually toyed with doing a prestige class/feat supplement that featured this concept. For example, Arthur and Aragorn belong to the True King PrC, which can only belong to one character.

Another variant is to take a class or ability that already exists and limit it. What of there was only ever one paladin in the world? What about one cleric in a world where the gods never show themselves?

Yeah, I did that with Spellfire in one of my old Forgotten Realms games. Led to a lot of people wanting to beat up the Spellfire Wielder in order to gain its power (it wasn't tied to Mystra in my game, simply raw potential). Happy times. :D

I was struggling between Perfect & Epic though, wondering which one should be higher up in the rank. May I ask why you chose to make Epic rank higher than Perfect?

To me, 'Perfect' represents the pinnacle of mundane feats, whereas Epic and those above it are the beginning of the more wuxia-style supernatural feats.
