Message: <blockquote data-quote="dm4hire" data-source="post: 5260039" data-attributes="member: 14848">Which is why they went OGL.  Any publisher wishing to do something along these lines needs to OGL or at least make it rules free for specific systems.  As for what systems besides d20/OGL you could Savage, WoD, BRP, just about anything really, but the key is to keep actual game mechanics out.  If you take a good look at how Paizo did the Gamemastery Guide you can see a working model of how it could be done.  If they decided to do a campaign setting they could do it rules free like Freeport then make compliant companion books since the majority of their "material" would be in the core book for the setting.Exactly, since there seems to be some demand for it, but I think the key as I'm hinting at above is the company would need to really design a good mature/evil campaign setting that would support everything which would be their back bone.  Something along the lines of Thieves World, Midnight, or Elric but with a more WoD adult approach both in content and art.  Sort of a fantasy version of Kult or Chill but less on the horror side if you can understand the tone I'm thinking of, maybe not so dark.</blockquote>
