For my very first regular campaign, I was a little unclear of the consept so I got a little silly. I was a cleric of the god of little furry creatures, "Chinchilla". I made it up. It was was fun for a little while... But then the Honeymoon was over. Then a long dry spell for me regarding clerics... (I tried a Druid at some point... But that really wasn't much better for me.) Mostly, I played Rogues and Bards. Now I'm playing Shawe Kayn (3rog/5clr), Priestess of Olidammara. (Or "Oli" as I like to call him.) She represents him in his aspect as a patron of brewing, good times, and getting into (and out of) trouble. Sure, Oli's got a darker side... But then, don't we all? I haven't found all but what amounts to about a page in info on Oli, but it's fun for me, comming up with tennints of Olidammaran Faith... Like, all of the alcohol you spill, in a wasteful manner, is saved in the afterlife. (The size of the container depends on what kind of person you are life... If Oli likes you, the container gets bigger, if you harsh his mellow, it gets smaller.) When you die you are dunked into the container head first. You will go to "Hell" if you drown... Or if the container is too small for your head to fit in. (Very very few people know that if you are quick witted enough to start drinking, you get right into "Heaven"... But they'll wait and see how far you get before telling you that you're in, just for giggles.) The DM also lets me decide, when I pray for my spells in the morning, whether I'm going to cast "Create Water", or "Create Alcoholic Libations" The only problem is that the potency of the Libation is inversely proportional to the amount that is created. So if I want to make something that will really knock your socks off, I can only make a little. While Oli is happy to make sure those of his flock are never without drink, he does not want to put his devoted Brewers and Vinters out of buisness... So Libations have all of the proporties of normal drink... Tastes great, less filling, get's you vahshnickered good... But it just, lacks a certain something, that makes hand crafted drink better. I think it's the only reason the Dwarven Paladin of Moridin in my party doesn't smite me daily. :)
