Using this machine, he has worked out what proportions prism-shaped dice have to be so that each end rolls as frequently as one of the adjoining faces. In fact a d5 is being produced based on his work. AFAIK it's as fair as an ordinary d6, d8 etc.The edges rather than the faces of the die are numbered, so you don't have to pick up the die and check the bottom face to see what you've rolled. The end faces of the prism are, of course, exceptions. They're numbered in the middle of the face.Another way of making a d17 would simply be a d34 numbered 1-17 twice.
