Message: <blockquote data-quote="Dannyalcatraz" data-source="post: 5810501" data-attributes="member: 19675">Our BCs get dry kibble in the morning, then dry kibble mixed with some kind of people food for dinner.The people food in question is almost always some kind of unseasoned protein, usually either egg (about 1/2 of one) or hamburger meat (about 1/8th of a lb).  The egg is usually simply microwaved in a bowl or boiled.  The burger meat we buy in 5lb chubbs when they're on sale, and I cook the entire thing as 1/4lb patties.  I store the patties in 1lb bags, most of which get frozen.  For service, the meat or egg gets microwaved about 30 seconds to take away the chill of the fridge and release the smell of the fats, etc. then we mix the dry and the other stuff thoroughly, so the scent of the egg or burger meat is all over all of the food. We've found that:<ol> <li data-xf-list-type="ol">It's cheaper per serving than canned dog food</li> <li data-xf-list-type="ol">They "wolf" it down, so almost none is wasted, unlike canned dog food, and they tend to eat all of the kibble as well, again, unlike thigh the canned dog food</li> <li data-xf-list-type="ol">The portion size is less than we were giving them in dog food (1/2 can per day)</li> <li data-xf-list-type="ol">It smells better</li> </ol></blockquote>
