Here is the text for the first newpaper article I am going to post for my Daggerheart supers convention games to gin up interest as well as introduce villains, pregens, setting elements, and lore: ---------- Arcanopolis Eye 3rd Highward, 2390 Admiral’s Ball Robbed by Vampire Witch, Thwarted by Vigilante By Emeliana Starcostro The Admiral’s Ball is one of the pinnacle event of The Tiers during the High Season, always attended by a who’s who of Arcanopolis’ elite families. This year the spectacular event became the scene of terror when the disgraced countess and vampire Lady Bloodright interrupted the Ball. Witness accounts tell of a violent shakedown as members of the staff turned on the guests suddenly, tearing jewels and finery from their unsuspecting innocent victims. Whether these ruffians were true devotees of witch or under her spell has not been established. Meanwhile, Lady Bloodright took Lord Admiral Balthazar Corrum himself hostage and threatened to drain his life's blood then and there if the other guests did not comply. Though valiant, the Lord Admiral was no match for her mesmerizing powers, witnesses reported. The scene was disrupted, according to witnesses, when the vigilante known as The Wraith suddenly appeared in a burst of shadowy mist, as is his wont. He felled many of Lady Bloodright’s trolls and engaged the witch in a magical duel, according to witnesses. Finally, Lady Bloodright was forced to abandon both the Lord Admiral and her ill-gotten booty lest The Wraith capture her. She changed her shape into a red, winged respect, said witnesses, and flew away. The Wraith left the scene in the manner he had come, perhaps in pursuit of Lady Bloodright or merely to avoid interaction with the constabulary. After the events, Lord Admiral Corrum made the following statement: “We will not be intimidated by these villains and vigilantes. The so-called Lady Bloodright will be brought to justice, along with that vigilante!” The Arcanopolis Eye will continue to follow the story as more information is available.
