Changelings: I recently had a player who played a changeling Rogue/Cabinet Trickster and he really got use his disguises when he was infiltrating Rekkenmark's military academy. I think it's nice to have a race that isn't a full-grown doppelganger but can still put up convincing disguises with a little help from innate abilities. I think they're a great race with a lot of potential. Daelkyr Half-Bloods (Magic of Eberron): I haven't read through Magic of Eberron thorougly yet, but so far I like the half-bloods. There's a lot of character- and background-building potential with these guys. Mechanically, I'd say they aren't that great, but they're still reasonable. Being an aberration can have its advantages. Kalashtar: The kalashtar didn't strike a chord with me in the beginning, but I've really got to like them. They have a very interesting background and their constant shadow war with The Dreaming Dark could make for some interesting adventures and encounters. Aditionally, I think it's a good way to introduce psionics to Eberron. Shifters: Watered-down lycanthropes as others have said and I agree. On the surface they seem cool, but I don't think their background is very convincing and game mechanically they aren't very sound. Still, I think they got a serious boost with Races of Eberron, but they stay pretty weak in my mind. Warforged: I think they're a great addition to the roster of playable races. Sure they're pretty powerful, but they can still be taken down like all other creatures. They have an interesting background, but the whole living construct subtype thing seems a little far out. Overall, I like the races of Eberron and I'm looking forward to learning more about them and the cool world they inhabit.
