What do you think of the ninja

Ha Ha

Very funny, my point was that they are supposed to be a real thing, and I dont think they fit for real or for in the game. The important point is I can't see how they would work in a world, there isn't enough work.

As for you wanting a Dragon, hmm well I have seen a few and to be honest if you knew my ex-wife she would eat a Red for breakfast. She was undead and draconic. Excellent illusion of beauty too.

Boy where have you lived.

I don't see a need for a ninja core or prestige class. I have a ninja-style character, martial savant 6 / rogue 5 / assassin 2. He can do all the things I want him to do, from typical stealth, pilfering, the occasional assassination (although he's given up on the last one), and save the world from a death god and his chosen weapon of destruction, all the time keeping a low profile and not revealing his identity to anyone.

I think the other classes cover ninja well enough.

Also, I have a definite issue with Fighter BAB and d6 HD. That falls too far outside the standard range, which to me indicates a balance problem. There's a disjunction when you can attack but not defend yourself, and I don't think it's possible for those two to coexist.

Low can take a d4 or d6, medium a d6 or d8, and high a d8, d10 or d12. Anything else I see as an aberration and a failure to understand what hit points represent.

On a side note, thought, I'm working on a flexible monk with some stealth options which could make a swell ninja.

I tend to agree. I particularly don't see the need for a ninja base class. Actually, let me qualify that: in a campaign where the party was a band of ninja, I could see the use of the ninja base class (and perhaps the assassin base class from the recent assassin's handbook) as a means of offering more viable class choices to players at first level.

I'm not convinced that this isn't just an argument that every such ninja ought to have (and use) Expertise. Well, the lack of Evasion could still be a problem, I suppose.

SOmething about a d6 HD and warrior BAB dosn't sit right with me, as both are measures of combat prowress. I'd up the skill points and give them monk iterative attacks with ninja weapons. Otherwise, although it isn't a class I'd play, its cool.
