[QUOTE="jollyninja, post: 118467, member: 3208"] i would like to see a class that replaces the sorceror and the mage, kind of halfway between the two, that to me summs up dragonlance magic's feel quite well, mages are born, and then taught the rules of magic, then tested to see if they can handle it. if they are going to restrict the spells that a mage can learn, i hope they will at least throw them some minor bone to make up for it. I would like to see character background have a little more effect on class skills (based on region ie plainsmen all get wilderness lore as a class skill, that sort of thing with every region having it's own niche in the world). it is my dream that this all ends with the 5th age never having happened, the time after the chaos war could make a sweet setting if the gods were there. however, milti timeframe is nessisary. if not in the main book, perhaps a book specifically for playing in the various ages of krynn. that would be nice. many want only to play in between chronicles and DoSF I allways assumed that the "magic" raistlin was refering to at the end of dragons of summer flame was in fact science, i want insane gnomish inventions that could rival the wizards of krynn if only they would work correctly. one thing i have heard mention of is the serious side of tasselhoff, i have never liked how other kender have been portrayed by alot of DL authors, they are childlike in some ways but that doesn't mean that they are incapable of realising that some situations are serious. kender became parodies of themselves, alot of the descriptions of kender were written from the perspective of humans and people have assumed that what was written were true. ie that kender are in fact all insane and bent on destroying themselves in an irrational manner, they are stupid, their curiosity deprives them completley of any sense of self preservation and many other untruths about kender. I want playable kender darnit. curious but not idiotic. as a dragonlance hardcore fan, really all i want is something, if every review i ever saw was a bad one, i would still buy the books. I hope this blind loyalty to dragonlance will be rewarded not shoved in my face as a reason to stop buying books based on previous work by the publisher/author. if this book is not good, my days of playing in someone elses setting are officially over.
