What does your character want to achieve at the epic tier?

My players will soon be epic tier (almost 19 currently) and in preparation, I thought that I would gather some ideas. I could of course just ask them (and I will) but I thought it would be even more interesting to hear stuff from you guys.

So, what over-the-top (or completely average) things does your character (or your players) plan on doing at the epic tier? I want to hear both the realistic and unrealistic goals.

Cheers

I'd like to change the campaign world in a powerful, lasting way.

I want to kill an evil god or demon prince or arch devil - and he will stay dead forever, reducing the taint of evil forever. I want to end the Mourning. I want to bring down the Wall of the Faithless.

An ice cream might be nice, too.

I want to fight in epic battles.

One where our PC's are the foci of armies clashing in a colossal fight of attrition spanning days or weeks or months.

One where the battle mat must represent whole geographies from mountain tops to endless sea scapes to the boundless sky.

One where our characters must chase and flee between the planes, imagine a combat modeled after those Scooby Doo scenes in a hallway full of doors.

Combats where the terrain is all dangerous in radically different ways from moment to moment, throw in a changing mix of bad and good guys so that at one moment you need to fight with the guy you were just trying to kill and the next he'll turn on you cause your common nemesis is gone.

A mix of skill challenges and gonzo epic magic and the abilities of the characters should make it approachable.

My group is interested in creating a floating continent that we can fly around the world/through the planes. We are hoping to raise the land directly under our home city so we already have the buildings/farmlands/populous to make it a viable base of operations.

Some really cool ideas there, thanks. Now if only more people found this thread interesting. ;)

Really, I just want to change the world. Have an event in an ongoing campaign so that, when we make 1st level characters again, the actions of our previous characters ring down. Or, better yet, when OTHER people in the same campaign make characters, they are affected by the actions of my character.

I don't want to be a god, kill a god, or do anything like that.

But I do want my character to be a hero of, well, epic proportions. I want to kill a dragon in a highly climactic battle. I want to boss around Kings. And I want a novel-like quest (actually, more like a comic-book... 4e's epic doesn't really do the type of novels I like to read very well, and no, that's not a burn).

By epic level "the world" woube be a boring place to live, I'd like to be well known in the planes, have a mansion in Sigil or my own demiplane.

Hurm, nothing too grand. Just achieve divine patronage, become a god, and then watch as the loyal worshipers who made it all possible sweep out and conquer everything in their path.

I want it all. The world under my dominion, myself and my awesome powers backed by an army of monsters whom all shal fear.

Oh, and money. Money's good too.

Hmmm... yes, I want a summer home in the happy hunting grounds and a winter one where it's hot like Brass.

I want to affect the fate of nations via small conversation at a simple dinner in an unremarkable little hovel of a decrepit out of the way inn. Conversations full of portentous and barely suppressed epic power.

I want to hop the bars on the streets among the doors in Sigil.

I want my friends and I to race a yacht on the Astral Sea from the Bright City to the reflection of the Feywild. I want to compete against all sorts of strange and wonderful craft while Avandra places her bets and cheers us on.

I want so many things.
