What European Game Cons are good?

OK, I've never been to a Game Con. I would like to attend one. Gen Con is difficult for my current travel situation. What/when are the more interesing and bigger European gaming cons?

I've heard of Gen Con UK, but does that live up to its name?

Well, there's alwaysthe Finnish RopeCon, in August... I think it's pretty much the most easily accessible con from Russia. The con is always a very large affair, and tends to have something for everyone... wargamers, card gamers, roleplayers, larpers... And pretty much everyone speaks, or at least understands, English.

Thanks, why yes, that is quite accessable. Just an overnight train ride. :)

I'm going to Helsinki this March, actually. No plans for August, but I'll have to take a look at that one...

It's a tad early to say anything about the con's program as it's still a good five months away, but thus far, confirmed events are a Magic: the Gathering tournament (surprise!), and a Warhammer Fantasy Battle tournament (which I will be attending, if I can get my army ready and finished). There will also most likely be a boffer fighting tournament, as it's sort of a tradition. Oh, and traditional tabletop RPGs, for a wide variety of systems. Pokémon, L5R, and clicky-base miniature tournaments will also probably be arranged.

We will most likely get the sculptor/painter Ramon Laan as a guest of honour. Maybe.
