I got my first taste of plasticrack yesterday. I got a WotDQ booster, an Angelfire booster and an Aberrations booster. I originally was just going to get 2 WotDQ boosters but the fact that my LGS had the older Angelfire and Aberrations boosters changed my mind. My first impressions were that they were a lot smaller than I expected (I guess I am used to the Games Workshop sized minis) and the plastic was a lot softer. I thought that the paint jobs were ok but a few of them needed some improvement (Fiendish Giant Praying Mantis - who threw up on that mini! :\ ). So what did I get? Angelfire Booster Common Wrackspawn Hobgoblin Impaler Xeph Warrior Kobold Soldier Uncommon Justice Archon Werebear Imp Rare Steel Predator Aberrations Booster Common Myconid Guard Silent Wolf Goblin Hill Dwarf Warrior Gnoll Skeleton Uncommon Bladebearer Hobgoblin Half-Illithid Lizardfolk Orc Sergeant Rare Fiendish Giant Praying Mantis War of the Dragon Queen Booster Common Witchknife Cleric of Laogzed Twig Blight Whitespawn Hordeling Uncommon Bonded Fire Summpner Small Fire Elemental Rare Tordek, Dwarf Champion Huge Rare Sorcerer on Black Dragon(!) :D Overall I was very happy to score the Sorcerer on the Black Dragon. Out of all the huge minis it was my second choice so I was very happy to get one. On the other hand, the Fiendish Giant Praying Mantis and the Steel Predator (both large rares) from the other 2 boosters are about as useful to me as a third nipple. I hope that they are good for people who play the minis game because they aren't too useful for my D&D game. That's all part of the randomisation I guess. I ended up not getting much useful in the way of potential PC minis like I was hoping. One of my players took the Bonded Fire Summoner as his mini. The rest didn't really have anything close to suitable. I guess I'll see what I can trade some of my less than useful minis for. Would maxminis be the best place for this? I can definitely understand people's dislike of the randomness. I was happy with most of my WotDQ minis but a lot of the ones I got from the other 2 boosters won't see a whole lot of use. I think that picking up the singles for the minis that I really want will be the best way to go. I will probably get the remaining Angelfire and Aberrations boosters that are left at my LGS though because I think that these 2 sets are now out of print. Olaf the Stout
