I don't give two hoots about the NPC, you can ignore him or tweak his stats or whatever. As far as the character from the books go, a couple things bug me about him:1) Why did rebel against the ways of the Drow? Answer; it was "in his blood" from his father. He never even met his father until he was an adolescent and already was rebellious against the drow traditions so it wasn't that he was raised that way. He was just born with this morality. I hate that kind of sloppy narrative. The idea that this sort of neo-Arthurian "Goodness" is innate and his spirit couldn't be broken.Horse-puckey. ANYONE can be broken. A society that has existed for centuries based on that kind of cruelty would've broken him or killed him long before he escaped.2) His talent was innate too. Sure, it's fine to have some talent for things, but the scene where his father tosses coins at him and he catches them all made me gag. Show me a hero who wants to be a master swordsman and practices until his fingers bleed, who becomes godlike in melee because he's dedicated his existence to the blade. Give that character a modicum of starting talent and make him go from there.
