Well, Now that I am developing this as an idea I'm torn. I really don't just want to do this as a Simple Slasher Flick. You know, Evil Druid gets it on with various Farm Animals, Invites Villagers over for a BBQ, Giggling the whole time about how he's fulfilling some ancient ritual about "Feeding his Children to the Pious" thus resulting in releasing the UNSPEAKBLE DEMON/DEVIL/SLAAD/INSURANCE ADJUSTER of ULTIMATE DOOM & unleahing 1000 years of Mauve. Yada. Yada. Yada. That horrific tale of unmentionable evil has been done. It starred Rob Schneider & was called "The Animal" I really want to take Humping Animals into the Literary Annals from which it originally sprang. Like the Ancient Greek Myth of the Minotaur. Combined with a Sherlock Holmes Style Mystery. Option 1. Code Name Dwarf Hippie. This one really stands on its own if I go with it. Basically a Dwarf Druid whose a few shafts shy of a mine (IE CN Bonkers). He feels sorry for all those domesticated animals, locked up all the time, deprived from the way nature intended them to live. Out of the goodness (or Chaotic Neutralness) of his heart, he's just out to show the Village's Livestock how to "Make Love, Not War". Just crazy, Not evil. Dwarf who really believes he's just helping the poor, lonely, farm animals have a good time. He's more than willing to take responsibilty for his get. He even goes to the town council & offers to take all his children home to live with him. Needless to say. Telling the town "Hey. I'm the one whose been knocking all your Sheep, Goats, Pigs, Cows, Chickens, Cats, Dogs, Hamsters, Goldfish, Elephants & Used Cart Salemen Up. But don't worry I'm taking full responsiblity, I'll just take me kids home... Umm, do I smell Roast Pork.... Billy? WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO BILLY? Chittlins? No SON of my is being turned into Chitllins, Sausage, Bacon, Chops, Cracklins, Ribs & other very tasty morsels! Thy DOOM is upon you!" Then is when I throw the PC's in the middle of this "Child Custody" Dispute. Niether Side is Evil. There is just a slight Conflict of Custom. One that says "Animals as tools" to "Hey, Look what I can turn into! I wonder if I could even...." It would be in the Party's best interest (Highest XP Award) to mediate a sucessful truce between the 2 sides. Before hordes of Awakened Chicken Monks kill all the Villagers. See. Classic, Epic Myth Right There. Option 2: Code Name "Ollie's Stud Services" This one is really where the Mystery will come into play. The Set up: Party is hired to find out what became of a Rancher's Eldest Son & his friend. Simple Tracking will find his Friend's Mutilated Corpse. It'll look like an Animal Mauling, but the Rancher's Son will be missing. Plus, the Attack will look a little too staged to be random. From here I have a few Possible Villians. 1. The Usual. NE Druid whose been Humping Livestock as part of some wierd ritual to accomplish some path to greater power, la-dee-daa, la-dee-doo. He's now using a Regenerate Spell to feed the Ranchers Son's Brain Matter on a Regular Basis to Various Predators in an attempt to Bypass the XP Component of the Awaken Spell. Party's Job is to Kill the Druid, Take his Stuff, Rescue the Kid (Probably in that Order). 2. The Rancher. He's the one Knockin' Hooves. He's a Druid whose gone into hiding & makes his living at Studing out all his Various Champion Livestock. The secret is that he IS all the Champion Livestock (I live in Farm Country, Pimpin' out Champion Steers can bring in some serious green). His kid & the friend saw him "Finishing a Business Transaction" & thus they had to be silenced. He killed his Son's Friend, but Kidnapped his own son to try "to Reason with him" His son, is, understandablly a little confused. And Grossed out. 3. Still the Rancher, but he's not the one Humpin' all the Cows. He's got some Druid's Animal Companions held Hostage & if the Druid Doesn't do what he says, The Rancher's got a New Fur Coat. He's forcing the Druid to Mate with Livestock so he can get rich. This is one where the Druid is so concerened about his Animals he'll go out of his way to avoid the party at all costs, but still try to leave obscure clues (I'm guessing really overestimating the Party's Ranks in Deduction & 2+2 Equals). I'm still working on Random Encounters. Such as the Calf that goes up to the Party & Says "Mama?" Half-Black Dragon Squirrels. Just cause Dragons have absolutely no Standards. Gnome Molesting Sheep. Just a simple Red Herring. Rampaging Demon. There is always a Rampaging Demon on every Random Encounter Chart. Tavern Wench (see Rampaging Demon). Wand of Evard's Black Tentacles Created by a Troll Shaman for her own.... Entertainment. Cause if My Mage had to Item Read that Horror, EVERY OTHER PC HAS TO LIVE THAT HORROR! Awakened Frog, Awakend Pig Marriage. This will only occur is the game goes past 2 AM & my wife doesn't monitor my Mt Dew Intake. Lots of memories of State Fairs & Farmers I grew up with in Farm Country Ohio. I'll see how this fleshes its way out. Later,
