This is because 100% of the examples in the world are evil.(I am not sure if there was only one. The drow are the only 'traditional' race of this type I am aware of, but like I said there are gaps in my pre-3e info. But if there are no (or no significant) non-evil examples, you really wonder where this cartoon is coming from.The exact same argument goes for 'colour', though I agree they're not linked issues - the drow just seem to be unusual in more ways than one.It's not necessarily racist to have dumb or evil black-skinned beings. But if *all* of the black-skinned beings, or the only major group of them, is dumb or evil, it's definitely leaning that way.And Gez - sure they can, but do you know of any actual examples in D&D where they are? I am honestly interested.BTW, this is not a pet issue of mine and I don't change drow or have lots of positive matriarchal or black-skinned species examples in my games to compensate. I'm certainly not saying that the creators of the drow had a message for the world, or really thought women were evil!! It's just something that has always made me a little uncomfortable.
