Miniatures have been around for years (as long as D&D if im not mistaken) in some form or another. I personally think they are more expensive to get into than roleplaying, and unless you are just using them for skirmish games then I dont see the current DDM game being used widely, unless they come out with a non-randomized version. Warhammer I believe is still the miniature king? Im not sure on that but If some other company comes to the table with a new and awesome Mini game I would expect Warhammer will have some new inexpensive game to compete. Next big card game is Versus. Yu-gi-Oh will continue to be made but it has been dead for awhile now. Ive seen online stores and some local stores getting rid of the stuff cause they cant move it, while Magic, Pokemon and Versus still move in large quantities.As for D&D. I really believe this new Star Wars game is a test for a simplified D&D. WOTC will see if this game does well and see if it is something they would like for a 4e. I think the Star Wars game will sell relativly well and the new system will be well recieved, but not for D&D. So they will either kill the idea on making 4e this new system or they will say "hey it works for star wars why not D&D."I dont think though we are anywhere near some gaming revolution like what happened way back when. Nothing new and revolutionary enough to catch the mainstream has come out yet, or at least has been able to be marketed to kids so their gullible parents could buy it for them.</blockquote>
