I think that erases the act of authorship. That includes the pride we should feel for the things we actively create through play and prep. It also includes the responsibility we bear for those creative decisions. I'm not a big fan of when authors or actors talk that way about their own material either.I tend to view authorship in RPGs as a necessary evil (on both sides of the screen) that enables play.
