I appreciate Everyones advice and commentary on this ring. I didn't think it was that big a deal but it seems there are a number of opinions that vary more than I thought they would.
Spatzimaus - Though I agree Skill items are horribly underpriced In this particular campaign I have maintained a tight control on what people can get easily. I seldom say no but often make it more difficult than just picking up an item at some random store.
RogueBAON - I think there is a cleric spell ina splat book granst +10 to a skill of choice.
Missing - The math works pretty well but still a bit price. It does have some restrictions. Such as the choice is once per day.
Merak - I have given the item out with the stats as it was a gift not something they found so I wouldn't change it normally.
LightP - then for twice the 19,500 figure I could have a +5 to every standard skill not taking up any spaces. But this item only adds to 4 skills . True you get to assign this once a day but still for 39,000 I could have all my skills covered taking no spaces as the ring does. Why would I pay the other prices you have? I think I missed your train of thought. Sorry.
Guilt P - I explained (Before handing out the stats to the player) That the ring helped focus the mind, spirit and body into performing better. It required a few moments concentration/ meditation to achieve this effect. So the in game expllaination is that. Out of game it gives a +5 circumstance bonus for the focusing of these three elements to the skill.
KReynolds - Basically what I told GPuppy. It focuses the character, I could easily say it is an insigh bonus instead but chose circumstance becuase it stacks. Since this takes time to set once set the ring is always on as far as helping the character. Just concentarting each night can reallign this focus to a new skill.
