Eh, I'd say Clr1. Maybe adept, if we'd like to stick with NPC classes. Aren't most basic PC's considered to have basically finished their initial training? 13+ years of schooling, yeah I can see that as being rudimentary training. Dude, just 'cuz I go by the book doesn't make me a "roll player" Nor is that nessecarily a bad thing. :) If you wanna use some variant XP systems, that's all well and good, but I think it's pretty questionable how much XP someone gets for working hard. We could, in theory, use the XP-by-age systems on Mr. Reynold's (I probably spelt that wrong) page or here, if we want, but it's not really that important to get it accurate. Anyhoo, the events in your life have probably been mirrored in anybody else's life. Most anybody is mentored in some things, gets a bit on their own, gets in a few childhood scuffles... Basically, ages birth-late teens are considered "apprentice" until you're level 1. I think that Regdar as a youth got in scuffles, joined the Hawkscouts, and, heck, 'cuz he's Reggie, he probably had Stifler's Mom. ;) I'm not saying you shouldn't have a high opinion of yourself, but me no think you can Cleave at age 7. If so, I'd hate to see the toddlers in your campaign. :) Actually, scratch that. I would love to see them. I have a few PC's that could use a good ol' fashioned first-grade smack down. :) And can you imagine the kids in more dangerous regions of the world? Orcs wouldn't stand a chance against the squadron of 12-year-old girls that are LV3 wizards that would wipe them out. :) I'm being facietious, and far be it from me to get into an argument about how to depict yourself in a ficticious game world, but I just can't really seriously buy any real-world person translated to being much more than a low-level mook in a world of heroic fantasy. We ain't heroic. We ain't fantastic. Our songs won't be sung by minstrels. Maybe I'm wrong. It really doesn't matter. Maybe we're using different methods of translation (e.g.: What I'd Like to Be when Heroic vs. What I Am, Really). But methinks you may have more than a little problem wrastlin' a polar bear (CR 4, not a big deal for a 6th-lve character)...am I wrong?
