I think (hope) you guys might like this one. When I first started playing, my first character was a CN theif. My best friend played a CE Necromancer. A new player joined the group (whom we were none too pleased about), and we dicided to "take care of him". His character was another spellcaster, of which we did not really want in the group (the DM allowed him to join us as a "favor"). So, when we were camping one night (the characters, not us), my theif was on watch. I woke up the Necromancer, and we proceeded to tie up the other mage. I then proceeded to chop his toungue off and cast it away. The spellcaster was rendered effectively useless, as my buddy rolled a "19" for his grapple check, and I rolled a "natural 20" for my "toungue slice" manuever! A brilliant piece of work, if I do say so myself, and when the mage woke up, he soon realized that he could not cast any spells or even talk. The player never did find out what happened, and eventually left the group. Mission accomplished! The second story is much more recent. We just started a new campaign, and a brand new player to the game is in our group. He plays the 1/2 orc barbarian, as plays him rather mellow-like and serene. He and I had just created the character about 2 hours prior to this particular encounter, and he was still learning the mechanics of the game itself, and also trying to "play" the character. I had given him pointers on the finer art of playing a barbarian (i.e. big axe, rage, and intimidate). I had even given him a bonus +2 mod to his intimidate skill to add some encouragement to rollplay the beast. The klutzy paladin accidentally started digging around where he should not have been digging, and woke up a dire weasel. I asked the barbarian what he was going to do - he said "I will intimidate it." I was floored - I honestly thought he would just swing his big axe at it or something, but he said "Remember that scene in Star Wars where Chewy scares the droid as he was being taken to the prison Cell Block 112A? Well, that's what I do - just like that." Again, a moment of silence on my part (I really hadn't expected that), and the other players are starting to laugh. How in the world do you intimidate a rabid creature who's lair has just been invaded??? So, I told him to roll a d20 - he rolled a "2". So the dire weasel latched his jaws onto his arm and proceeded to bite the crap out of him. But we were all laughing pretty hard. Geez, I really do love this game!
