But tabletop rpgs are something special - they do something no computer game can do — offer unlimited choice and immersion. I don’t blame computer games, but I fear some tabletop designers are looking to computers for guidance when it should be the other way around.I also don’t think cavemen were thinking about “optimizing their build” when they figured out how to use fire. I guess you can call it that if you want, but then it’s just inserting more computing speak into a non-digital universe.</blockquote>
