The first of many Deaths of Amara Trapspringer... I happened to have a character that died on several occasions (Seven to be exact). But the first, I think is the most memorable, and kind of heroic. It started when our party just happened to be split up in the town of Verbobonc, My Halfling Rogue Amara who was transformed into a dwarf at the time. Was in the marketplace selling the party’s loot that was no longer needed. While within the booth she was attacked by an assassin, he stuck her once, but was she was able to shake off the effects of the poison. She was able to finish him off as quickly as she needed to. She realized that there must be one for each of her party members, so worrying about the Elven wizardess Arianna who was left alone at the inn to study, she ran with all the speed she could muster to reach her. Along the way to the inn, she was slowed by a gathering crowd in the middle of the road, being as stout and not quite used to this dwarven body, she waded through the crowd. Once she was in the midst of everyone, she noticed a body lying in the street face down. She immediately recognized the spiked armor; it was her friend and companion, the party’s Elven Fighter/Cleric/Dragon slayer Elberath. He was white as a ghost, and not breathing, he also had a wicked puncture wound in his back. She was positive he was dead, but she had to get to Arianna and fast. So she hefted Elberath around her shoulders and ran as fast as she could to the inn. When she finally reached the inn, she ran with Elberath straight to their room. Reaching the room, the door was ajar, and there was an assassin lying face down upon the wooden floor. Arianna was safe, which she was relieved, but now had to break the news to Arianna that our friend was dead. So Amara laid Elberath down on the bed, at sat herself down as well. With shaky legs, she tried to convince Arianna to let her hunt down Elberath's killer, but Arianna insisted that they wait for the clerics to arrive to help him first. So while we waited and Amara fidgeted, the second strain of the poison finally hit her system and killed her where she sat and she slumped forward off the bedside and on to the floor.
