What old books do you still own? The first OD&D box anyone?
Hmm... Anyone know the difference between these?: I have 2 boxed sets of basic D&D. They both have a rulebook and the Keep on the Borderlands module. One of them has plastic dice. The other has squares of perforated cardboard with the corresponding dice numbers printed on them, that must be torn apart, and apparantly drawn out of a bag or something. I'd guess the one with actual plastic dice is newer. These are both "sealed" (I got them as part of my payment for working at a convention a few years back) but the newer one has clearly been resealed. I'm not sure about the cardboard dice one. It looks like original wrapper, and there's an old crusty yellow price tag on it that says $3.99... Unfortunately, my wife and I just bought a new house and decided to clear out most of our old stuff for a little extra cash to help with the move, but mostly so we had less to move. We sold a couple of Deities and Demigods (with and without Cthulu), a few OD&D Players handbooks, DMGs and Fiend Folios. Original Oriental Adventures and Forgotten Realms(I think) campaign books. All in all I'd say it wasn't worth it (even though we of course haven't touched these books in decades) because they really didn't go for much, and the move was a hassle anyway! They looked great on our bookshelf. Ah well. Later! Gruns
