What product has the best random wilderness encounter tables?

I looked at TOOLBOX by Alderac Entertainment Group but it relies on a d20 too much. I want tables that are huge that use at least d%.

Peace and smiles :)

The two I like off hand are Wilderness and Wastelands and also Necromancer Games Ultimate Wilderness Guide. I think that's its name.

Ummm, 1st Ed DMG?

plus it is broken down into the climate types and commonality of the monsters.

the later monster hardbacks tried to do this also but i still prefer the DMG.

Well, if you want to get in on the free KoK module giveaway, each of the Coin Trilogy modules have d10,000 encounter tables for 9 different areas that could easily be used in another setting.

see the giveaway thread on EN World here:

I forgot I had The Root of all Evil. I bought it but didn't read that far into it as it wasn't exactly what I wanted to DM at the time.

Good thing too as a friend ended up running it. Now as I look at again, and at the random encounter table especially, it is exactly what I am looking for.

Thank you.

Peace and smiles :)

Best one's I have ever seen are the one's that the GM makes up to fit his own world and personal tastes.

Then again, I am a huge fan of paring down the vast array of critters in MMs in general.

KenzerCo are the ultimate masters of charts and tables... :)

Which is no suprise when you consider that in addition to making the Ultimate Roleplayer's Setting (Kalamar) they put out the Ultimate Hack'n'Slashers RPG (Hackmaster).

Somehow I figured I had cast Summon Diaglo.
Though of course I still do like the 1st ed DMG for lots of things. The descriptions of governments is something I was always fond of.
