She got it during a wizard's test and took it with her everywhere she went. In fact, the one time she didn't have it with her was a clue to the rest of the party that she'd been replaced by a rakshasha.This same character also fell victim to a magical spamming business card, which she got from a guy who was trying to hock bad magic items and cut-rate spell books ("Learn Necromancy in Thirty Days", that sort of thing). The card had a tracing spell on it that allowed the salesman's junk mail to find her wherever she went. Eventually, I was going to have little imps in telegram outfits appear and sing jingles at inopportune times- like when she was sneaking up on someone, or trying to get some private time with the boyfriend, etc.</blockquote>
